Aldaraia

A magical record for iPhone · in development

Your magical record, kept for you

Talk through your working, or debrief when it’s done. Aldaraia files the entry, stamps the planetary hour, Moon and void-of-course, remembers what you promised, and checks in at 3, 7, 30 and 90 days.

Any tradition. No account. Your record stays encrypted on your phone.

How it works

Every school says keep a record. This one keeps itself.

  1. Speak

Tap Begin and state your intent. Narrate as you go, or answer four questions when you’re done. It records with the screen off and in airplane mode.

  2. Filed and stamped

Your words become an entry: intent, spirits, materials, steps, what you noticed, what you promised. The sky is stamped from your location, and misheard names are fixed from a lexicon, with your OK.

  3. Checked in on

At 3, 7, 30 and 90 days, plus any date you mentioned, Aldaraia asks how it’s going. Answer from the lock screen in one tap, or in a few words.

One working, before and after

You ramble. It files.

What you say

“okay, Wednesday night, I’m going to call stoles from the gooey tia to help me learn the astronomy and herbs for the class… seal on parchment, triangle set up, LBRP first. Frankincense and a bit of dragon’s blood… the candle flame’s doing this tall flickering thing, I’m getting a crowned owl… asked for help memorizing the planetary correspondences before the exam on the 28th. Offering was the incense and a candle every Wednesday. License to depart, LBRP. Done.”

The parts a paper diary can’t do

♄

Promises to spirits

Every vow you mention becomes a reminder: one-time, every Wednesday in the hour of Mercury, or due when the working succeeds. Mark each one kept.

☽

Check-ins that come to you

Day 3, 7, 30 and 90, plus any date you mention. Rate it from the lock screen: clear result, partial, nothing yet.

☉

The sky, stamped

Planetary day and hour, Sun and Moon by sign and degree, phase, void-of-course, retrogrades, the whole chart. Worked out on your phone from GPS, even offline.

☿

Your own patterns

See where your results have been best: by hour, day, Moon, spirit, materials and method. Plain counts from your own record.

♃

Your tradition, your words

Goetia, Golden Dawn, Thelema, chaos, planetary magic, witchcraft, folk practice, devotion. Aldaraia records what you did in your terms. It never judges or interprets.

Security

Locked down, because it has to be

Some practitioners live with people, or under governments, that would punish them for this record. Aldaraia is built for them first.

  • An app passcode on every open, separate from your phone’s. Face ID is optional and can be turned off, because a face or a finger can be forced.
  • A decoy passcode opens an ordinary-looking journal instead of your record.
  • A wipe code (and, if you choose, ten wrong tries) destroys the keys at once. What’s left is unreadable.
  • Strong encryption. AES-256 for the database, with the key built from your passcode and a key that never leaves the phone. Audio is encrypted file by file. Backups are encrypted before they leave the phone, with a recovery phrase only you hold.
  • Nothing gives it away. Notifications never name a spirit or an intent, nothing appears in search, and the name means nothing to an outsider.
  • No account, email or phone number. Cloud transcription is off until you turn it on, and Private mode keeps everything on the phone.

Questions

When can I use it?

iPhone first, aiming for early 2027. Android after that.

Does the AI interpret my working?

No. It files what you said. It doesn’t read omens, judge your practice or tell you what a spirit meant.

Will it tell me whether magic works?

No. It shows patterns in your own record and makes no claims about outcomes.

Where does my record go?

It’s stored encrypted on your phone. If you turn on cloud transcription, the text of an entry is sent to a speech or language model to be structured, under settings that don’t keep it. Private mode keeps everything on the phone.

Which traditions?

Any. The name lexicon starts with the Goetia, the Olympic spirits, the planetary angels, intelligences and spirits, and common divine names, and it learns the names you use.

What does Aldaraia mean?

It’s the first word of the Book of Soyga, a book of magical letter-tables that John Dee owned. It opens “Aldaraia sive Soyga vocor”: I am called Aldaraia, or Soyga. Dee asked the angels to explain it and was told only the archangel Michael could. The book was lost after his death and found again in 1994.

Who’s making it?

A practitioner who wanted a record that keeps itself.
